I am Because We Are
Pakistan!
The Pak Sar Zameen! The Land of Pious!
Years back the fight started for the Independent.
Everyone stood up for own identity.
I so unwillingly believe that a nation comprising of
200 million people can cry over for lack of resources, employment, and
opportunities. No, we are the nation of lions, the nation of spirit, and the
nation of self-believing people! We were created to cultivate distinctions. We
were born to make people realize that somewhere in this “world” is a nation
that truly believes in own strengths. The nation that sacrificed each and every
paisa, honor, lands, businesses, lives and much more for the sake of their own
Identity, their own Homeland, a place of free will for all of them!

Independence
On the night of 13th August 2013, I was sitting with my Grand Mother in her
room. We were discussing some general issues about Pakistan and that how bad time
Pakistan is facing now a days. While talking about the current issues I noticed
that my grand maa’s eyes were full of tears and she wanted to express her
feelings about these situations but she was entirely unsuccessful.

#3 Story - I Volunteered
I Volunteered - Organized by Revolution Flame in collaboration with GURU TEES. |
This evening while I
was going to mosque after Iftaari, I noticed a boy standing beside his mother
near the mosque. The boy was looking at his mother at intervals. He seemed
confused. After offering the prayer, as I was going out of the mosque, I saw
the same boy at the threshold of mosque with his mother behind him, covering
her face.

Peeking through the
window, I used to wonder about dozens of ambitions I coveted for. The dreams
that, consequently, would satisfy my own self-esteem, my own desires, my needs,
my wants. One of those prestigious dreams, however, was social work.

There's this Aaya Jii
(Maid) at our university, I often talk to her in between my classes and I knew
how tough life she is living. How she struggles every day and honestly works
hard to support her family. Her husband is a drunk, he doesn't work and lives
off of her.

Connecting the Differences
‘Time is
always with the people who have courage to fly, not with the people who stand
and watch the sky’, I believed in my
favorite quote when during my class at university, received phone call from US embassy Karachi about my
selection for SUSI 2013, it was the beginning of a dream converting into reality.

Art of Maryam Shakeel
"There are two ways of interpreting a glass half-filled with water. You can either call it half-full or half-empty. Even though referring to it as half-full may give you hope, I do not intend to excite the readers by projecting fake optimism while so much is going terribly wrong in Pakistan. I still believe that despite all the unpleasant happenings, not all is lost yet."

Because, This Is What Matters
Sometimes peoples do care about
those things, which do matters for them, and more than anything else. That is
called our peak of priorities and shows our importance for such things. Some
people have priorities with Education, some have with Relations and some have
with their business and professions and that's all matters for them. There are
some unusual things too that do matters but they doesn't have any solid meaning
or role in their life but they had set them as first priorities for their
selves and they keep surviving for that their whole life.

Adventure Story of Adventure Academy
A group of 25 enthusiasts flocked up at the Jinnah stadium in
the evening of June 27. To initiate their mission, they set foot on the base
camp of the 2nd highest peak in Pakistan, 9th highest in the world. The group's
diversity is not only of their age, sex, and race but of geography as well.
More than a few came from as far as Sukkur and Karachi. In the light of foreign
tourists not allowed in the area, these adventurers showed solidarity by
participating in outdoor trainings at the majestic Fairy Meadows; having their
say, that such incidents will not shun their morale.

Let Us Rise

I am not new to this land of a
glorious past; for the wind narrates the achievements of the days, gone. And certainly, I am not new to smell the aura of dignity and valour that once
was the legacy of my forefathers; for my heart still beats, on the name of this
beauteous land.
Pakistan in Spain
Overseas Nationals, for any country, are truly the
ambassadors of the home country. They represent their home country by every
means. There are currently 6.3 million Pakistanis living abroad (3% of the
population), out of which 45000 Pakistanis are residing in Spain, which
represents one of the highest population in any European country outside the
United Kingdom, In Spain more than 60% Pakistanis are settled in Barcelona
located in Catalonia state, that is why it is widely known as “Pakcelona” in
local community.

To Whom It May Concern
I did not
ask to be a Pakistani, I just got lucky.
Last month I had to go to Quetta from Lahore and happened to travel through a train. I saw nearby small kids coupled with some Youngsters waving hands for the passengers on the way and some passengers (mostly kids but some aged too) waving back as a goodwill gesture, an unexplainable yet amusing do to me. Train from Lahore passes through cores of Punjab all the way off Sindh and then Enters Baluchistan.

Taking Pakistan to a New Level
The story relates to a very special girl mountaineer – Saana
Nazir (IIUI) who lost her memory time ago during her 6th semester
and couldn’t appear for her finals. Having an amazing support by her family, friends
and colleagues standing by her side, she was back on the road. A colleague
offered her to take part in climbing competitions and that is where the journey
began.

A.V.I.R.A 'Azaadi Edition' is exactly what A.V.I.R.A means;
Awareness, Vision Inspiration, Responsibility and Action. The Azaadi Edition focuses
mainly on the positive aspects prevailing in our society as now days whatever
channel we switch to gives us nothing but the figures of death rates, the
number of blasts, and the prevailing terrorism in our society. The country is
undergoing a multi dimensional crisis; unemployment, poverty, terrorism,
massacre, discrimination, serious moral and ethical issues to be dealt with.
