Department of Art & Design from College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar arranged an Annual Art Exhibition on 7th and 8th of October 2013 in PUTA Hall, University of Peshawar under the patronage of Miss Zil-e-Huma Mujeeb (Head of Department) with the support of Miss.  Imrana Simi, Miss.  Nayyar Kamal, Miss. Zubaida Mughal, Miss. Samina Mukhtar, Miss. Nazish Bangash, Miss. Amina Khattak. The Incharge of the exhibition was Principle of College of Home Economics Dr. Kaneez-e-Fatima. The Annual Art Exhibition ’13 was sponsored by Coca-Cola Pakistan and A.V.I.R.A (Social Media Partners).

Ruby Gul Shah, Zara Waqar, Laiba Sohail, Maheen Riaz,  Sabahat Niaz,  Sabeen Muzaffar, Alia Ali Khan, Qandeel Kafeel were the students from M. Sc (Previous) and Hina, Kainat, Urooj Khizran, Durkhanai, Rabail were the students from M. Sc (Final Year) who displayed their art work in the exhibition. This art work was based on six (6) major subjects’ i.e. Architecture & Interior designing, Graphic Communication, Ceramics,  Marketing  & Advertisement, Textile Printing  & Painting and History of Art.

The inauguration was done by the Chief Guest, Dr. Muhammad Rasool Jan (Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar) along with all deans and faculty of all departments of University of Peshawar. The Vice Chancellor was very inspired and he appreciated the work of students and congratulated the whole team for organizing such an event.

The aim of exhibition was to display the year work and exam projects of students in order to provide them exposure and acknowledgment to their creative and aesthetic abilities side by side to help in their learning process in the implementation of their ideas in impressive way and to make them compatible in market place.

Large number of People from every field of life visit the exhibition specially students from all the departments of UOP and other school and colleges visited and appreciated the work of students. They show great interest in all stalls including ceramics, graphics communication, painting, architecture and textile printing.

Special stall was arranged for the achievement of a college student, Ruby Gul Shah, who participated in panel paintings workshop at National College of Arts, Rawalpindi which was arranged by US Embassy and is selected for two week Exchange Program between US and Pakistan. The panel was based on Balochistan folk love story “Hanni and Shah Mureed”. People showed great interest in the story and appreciated the panel.

Suggestion box was arranged for all the visitors, who gave their feed back to the students at the end. They appreciated the hard work of students and suggested that these types of activities should be arranged in future. Some suggestions are listed below:

  • - The exhibition is marvellous reflecting the efforts and talent of students as we; as teachers, keep on exhibiting your work and represent college in each forum. Best of luck.  (Razia)
  • - Everything was lovely. All displays show hard work and the students were very helpful. We enjoyed the personal attention of staff and students. I personally liked the U.S. project and graphics display. (Zainab Gul)
  • - A very hard work of staff and specially students. Everything is well managed. Overall environment is good and friendly. We enjoyed a lot. I liked the charcoal work. (Sadaf Asghar)
