The story relates to a very special girl mountaineer – Saana
Nazir (IIUI) who lost her memory time ago during her 6th semester
and couldn’t appear for her finals. Having an amazing support by her family, friends
and colleagues standing by her side, she was back on the road. A colleague
offered her to take part in climbing competitions and that is where the journey
began.
Saana, under the exemplary guidance by her mentor Sir Saad, she
was able to be the World’s 2nd Best Female Climber. Living with a
new memory having full support and love by her family and acquaintances, she
was able to complete challenges that no girl can ever think of doing.
She played with the National Basket Ball Women’s team as an
entry into the outdoor sports world. All it took was courage and certainly lots
of it. Took part in ice-skiing, wall climbing, rock climbing and did a couple
of nationally recognized outdoor challenges. She dreams on representing
Pakistan on international rather than national level. She is living a dream of
many girls out there of taking Pakistan to a next level.
Having living with a new memory, she thanks God for what she
has today. Saana believes she could never have received this recognition if it
was not for Pakistan. It makes her courageous and keeps her determined every
time she thinks about doing it for her country. This is what brought her here
today, this is the feeling she wants to continue to work with, this is the hope
she wants to live with.
